As winters night goes on, and the cold never ends
The white sheets falling down, on and on in trend
Winds that make me shiver and ice that makes me freeze
No protection in this forgotten land, as I am filled with this unease
My kin left unrecoverable, as the tears begin to stream
No where to be found, but only in a dream
lost in this storm, as I circle round and round
Hopelessness despair, as my tracks are left unfound
The farther I go on, the deeper I go in
Leaves my mind but twisted, forever it has been
One thought leads to another, as the pessimism takes its toll
My sanity spirals into darkness, as I attempt to regain control
I shudder at what's to become, as the incubus slowly grows cold
There is no hope to fight it, for my mind is already controlled
As dreams become reality, and my mind is all but tattered
For this eternal sleep, I dare not speak. Leaves my thoughts all shattered.

And it is seen as the poem progresses that his mind is slowly losing this internal conflict that leaves it deranged and very pessimistic, until he finally gives up. In all this poem could be used as a metaphor for someone who has lost their way in life and all they need is someone to find them and guide them back to the right path of life.
