Lights are twinkling
Snow is falling
The light is dim
And fading fast.
The children are sleeping
Their parents are busy
Wrapping presents
For the coming day.
The ornaments are shining
The stockings are hung
The cookies and milk wait
For Santa to come.
The moon is bright
The stars are shining
The night’s silence
Is broken by ringing.
The ruby red sleigh
The nine stunning reindeer
The jolly old man
Streaming ‘cross the sky.
He drops off the gifts
A doll and a train
Then back up the chimney
To take off again.
He soars through the sky
Reindeer and all
Delivering gifts of joy
To all good girls and boys.
He rides off in his sleigh
Back to the North Pole
To prepare for next year
And the wonders in store.
