The plastic tree,
built piece by piece,
branch by branch,
a difficult method of building.
But perfectly done.
The white lights,
hung with care on every branch,
a sparkling reminder of a winter holiday,
perfectly hung.
Golden garland,
the sparks of yellow-gold fly,
hitting the walls from the reflection
of the lights.
And the ornaments,
a memory in each.
All holding value
of Christmas past.
Some made by ours own hands,
others were the perfect present.
But all to be beloved.
The Christmas tree,
a holiday in itself.
