• As i slept in my bed
    I heard a voice
    "Hallelujah hallelujah Jesus Christ is born"
    It was so beautiful
    That i crawled out of bed
    And walked to the window
    There on the horizon they sang
    Angels sent by God

    As they sang "Joy to the World"
    I saw above them
    A bright little star
    It was as if it was calling to me
    So i threw on my sandles
    And ran to follow it

    When i came upon the spot
    Above which it floated
    I saw a couple
    Sitting among the hay in the stable
    As I looked upon the manger
    That was between them
    As I saw those little eyes look up at me
    I knew who he was
    He was the little Lord Jesus

    To Mary I said
    "I may only be eight years old
    But I offer Him
    My friendship and protection and loyalty"
    "Thank you
    He will be pleased
    knowing that he has someone so young
    who cares deeply for Him"
    Mary had replied politely

    And to this day
    I offer to Him
    All those things I offered to Him
    So long ago
    To our Lord
    Jesus Christ
