In the arenas, that is the point...to match your ref, including skin color, hair color and style, and eye color and shape.
The ONLY time is when the base should matter is if the character is super lanky (i.e. Axel from Kingdom Hearts) or if they're buff/overweight (i.e. Mute from Ar Tonelico Qoga).
Trust me when I say that the base of the avatar helps/hurts your votes. I've seen it many many times. - Report As Spam

Genderswap cosplays should have a genderswap photo to accompany them.
I really dislike the curly hair. And the non-ripped hakama would look better.
