Vaas is the antagonist of the first half of Far Cry 3. He was born on the Rook Islands and is an ex member of the native Rakyat— a clan of warriors.
He became the right hand man of a slave trafficker named Hoyt, going on to become the leader of the pirates who came to the Rook islands to pillage and murder.
