Inuyasha was tricked by Naraku, resulting in him trying to attack his lover at the time - Kikyo. In the end, he was sealed away to a tree for 500 years until the reincarnation of Kikyo, named Kagome, woke him up. He carries around a sword named Tetsusaiga, forged from his father's fang.
