Along with his twin sister Mabel, Dipper is one of the protagonists of Gravity Falls. Dipper and his sister are very close as siblings, which their Grunkle Stan thinks is pretty odd. They are sent to spend the summer with their Grunkle Stanley Pines in Gravity Falls at his tourist trap Mystery Shack. Dipper got the nickname because of a birthmark on his forehead that looks like the little Dipper.
