• Earlier this year [Junior year] there was one day where a GIGANTIC amount of fights occured at my school. It started that morning around 7:55 while everyone was on the way to their first period classes, and the middle of the third floor hallway was crowded. There was a bunch of screaming and you could feel the floor shaking. I stood still by my locker at the end of the hall and watched, trying to stay out of the commotion though. I saw a few people drug out of the scuffle and into the teacher's lounge as it eventually broke up.

It turns out this fight had begun on the second floor, broke up, then had started all over again at the third floor where I had been.

After this occured, at some point there was a guy going around saying he had a gun and he was going to shoot every person in the school. From what I heard from other students that were there, and teachers, he did have a gun and was suspended.

Later on in the day a girl slapped a teacher then took off out of the room mad, punched a window to the point it broke, and left.

There was almost a fight in first wave lunch. It began outside on the way to the lunchroom where two groups of people were yelling at eachother and one group had to pull a girl back from going after someone. Then in the lunchroom, I was sitting there eating and saw two people standing up and cussing eachother out, waving their hands and stepping closer. Eventually security pulled them apart and hauled them off.

At the end of the day as I was pulling off and waving goodbye to some of my friends, I turned around to look at the mass of people at the front of the school like normal, and saw people running to the middle of the area around our school's large sign. ANOTHER fight had broken out, and people were screaming to egg it on:

    "Punch 'em!"
    "Fight, fight, fight!"
"Kick her......." [you know the rest]

In the two years I've been at my current school, the is the largest amount of fights we have had in one day. Needless to say now after instances with guns both at our school, and other schools in the state, our county is getting 13 standing metal detectors and 13 hand-held metal detectors for all high schools and middle schools in the area. They are hiring more security AND cracking down heavily on punishment for breaking rules.

    Isn't high school lovely?
