• It’s hard to imagine last year that I was actually a senior and looking back on all the good and bad moments. Out of all the memories I made at my high school there was only one that really sticks out the most. It was 3 years ago sophomore year …. It’s hard to say when I fell hard for some stupid boy. I had recently broken up with the best guy in the world because he was moving out of state. It didn’t bother me in the least as he said goodbye that’s where it hurt. I’ve never been the type of person who likes the word “goodbye” because every time I see someone saying it to someone else it hurts them; well I guess at that time I was the one feeling the hurt. I think it was three weeks later that I started to flirt with other guys. Well the first month of school past and everything was great! I join GSA (Gay Straight Alliance), join the JROTC drill team (Junior Reserve Officer in Training Core), and started to make new friends in some of my classes. Somewhere around the second week of October we get a new student ….. Well more to say they just told us to be prepare to be nice to this person the next day. On the same day the damn A – Block (1st class of the day) teacher has to get straws to see who would be showing the new student around tomorrow; and guess who got the short end of the stick …….. Yep me. I’m thinking ‘oh yay this should be … NOT!!!’
    So by the next day in my A-block I arrive early to because I usually hate standing around gossiping about people. After the long endless minutes passed the bell finally rings …. Everybody rushes into the class so they won’t be late. “Julie, can you come here please” said my A-block teacher, I go right up to her and she said I would be excused from all my classes just to help this new student out. So now I’m thinking ‘CRAP!! Now I have to make up work that I wasn’t there for’ half an hour passes and there was a light loud knock from the door. Most of class turns their heads to see who it was. Guess who? …….. Yep it was the new student. As the new student stood in front of the class my mouth fell wide open. Here stood a beautiful teenage boy, his hair was pitch black with light blue highlights it came down I’d say about almost neck length, he wore tripp pants, with an ACDC shirt on, and he had a side backpack!!! Most guys at my high school hated those bags …. Unless you were gay of course. “Students I like to introduce you to the class, class this is Luke Folly, Luke this is your A-Block class” He gave a small chuckle I guess I hadn’t notice that the teacher was callin on me and I hadn’t closed my mouth since Luke walked in. “If you leave your mouth open like that you’re going to have flies, flying in there” Luke spoke to me it was like heaven. His voice sounded like Dark from DNAngel!!! I stood up quickly and apologize for being stuck in my own little world as most people like to call it but I prefer my reality. We had all four classes together, though I found it a little funny that he’d join JROTC. This class is always 3rd period which is also the 4 four lunches thing. Luke to the second row were I sat and he sat on my left towards my right the seat belong to my best friend Heidi. She sort of gaped at him when he flips his bangs out of his eyes which I found funny in a way. …………….
    Saturday comes along and I’m hanging out with some of my friends well mostly my best friend who’s like a sister to me in a way. As we were wandering around the mall Meaghan happen to see a hot guy walk into the store so she dragged me to wear she saw him. Of course it had to be Luke. I tried to not let him see me so I ended up running into Macy and leaving my friend behind. She followed of course cause she knew something was up. I told her “he’s this guy from school I showed around and well he’s quiet” “So I’m quiet I thought I was rather talkative” I froze his voice …. It had to be his voice, it had to be him!!! I turn around slowly facing him. “Eh … Well maybe your sort of talkative ….” “hahaha, cute” by the time Monday comes along I’m waiting for him to have made friends now well besides me I guess but nothing he sits in the back of the class near the window just like me though I sit behind him and might I say it was the best view. Well when October and November passed Luke and I had became very close friends. We told each other the worst parts of our lives. We’d shared similar stories sometimes and it would make us laugh till it hurt.
    Only a few times my folks allowed him to stay over the night and he would without a second thought. When a dance for ROTC comes up we both decide to go, it was a regular casual thing. When I finally arrive to the school the night of the dance to go all the way out of town for the dance I had been the last one to get there, everyone else was on the bus waiting for me. Every seat had three to a seat and even the back seats were taken but Luke stood up flaring his arms telling me to come to him; so I did. I sat on his lap the whole bus ride there it felt awkward between us so we didn’t talk. When we arrive at the dance we finally start chitchatting about anything.
    Everything was going smoothly Luke and I had been standing in a corner watching our friends dance with people from different schools and then it happened my ex was there with his new hot girlfriend. I had to admit she was hot like a model or an actress. “Hey how’s life been for ya girl?” “Fine life is just peachy” my ex couldn’t since the sarcasm in my voice but Luke did he eyed me but I didn’t respond to it. “So are you dating anyone? I mean I was your only man and probably the only guy to have date you” my cheeks flushed he was right, he was the only guy that I’ve ever dated but I couldn’t tell him that I wasn’t dating anyone. “I’m her boyfriend!” Luke grabbed my wrist leading us both outside in the garden area. “Why did you tell him that?!” “I … I well….. urgh” “I need an answer?” “The reason I told him that –“Julie! Luke its time to go!” yelled our chief so we left and I never got to hear what he was going to say. Christmas break was only in two days away so everyone began to already fall behind in their school work. “Hey JS” “Hey LF” we laugh it was a stupid joke between the two of us to use our initials. “Hey JS meet me at the green on Christmas eve” “why?” “Just come” “fine I’ll come but I’ve already seen the lights already though” “I know there’s just something I need you there for” ……………
    Christmas Eve is here and I had been standing out in the cold air for probably 10 minutes before Luke came. We began to walk around for a bit before either of us start talking. “Julie I really like you a lot” I froze at the word like trying to piece together what he probably meant to say and he took the opportunity to plant a kiss on my lips. I guess you could say we started dating but things like that for me never last too long. By the time the school year was coming to an end something just felt off I couldn’t place it but it just felt weird feeling something off. I went to Luke’s house to see why my love hadn’t showed up yet, I notice a for sale sign out on the front lawn. Then I knock on the door and his mom answer she told me he was in his room so I went up a flight of stairs. “Knock, knock guess who brought your homework Hun?” “Hmmm maybe my Sakura?” “Awwz how did you know” we did what all couples do we kissed. “Hey babe I need to tell you something…” “What?” “My dad is getting transferred over to another base and well my mom she wants to follow even though we’re not living on a base…” “So you’re moving” “yeah…” “Let me guess you want to end it?” “Well just for right now but I promise when we’re both out of high school ... when we’re 18 we’ll pick up where we left off and I promise after this I won’t leave you again.” “I’ll hold ya to it”
    well I graduated high school, I’m 18 now and he’s not here with me right now… he died in an accident coming back to me…… told ya good things never last for me
