A lady on the shores
singing not far away.
Her song is louder than the waves
and I pray to Bragi for her to stay.
I get closer, and she is still there
singing her heart away.
My heartbeat increases
with every lyric she has to say.
My boat is sailing toward her
with the wind's slowing sway.
I believe she grows impatient
through every passing day.
I finally reach the shores
on where upon she laid.
For she is there nomore
only a feather in her place.
Was she an angel?
And went back on heaven's way.
Or was she a siren?
That could've devoured my heart today.

Description:
This was my very first poem I had ever written.
I like to tell romantic/tragic stories through my poems. I hope you had gotten a mixture of both these emotions by reading my piece. ^_^ - Date: 07/16/2008
