I heard her screams
I could feel her terror
But all I did was ignore her
The next morning
As I walked down the street I saw her
Laying on the cold, concrete ground
I thought I could hear a faint heartbeat
Pounding, getting louder every second
It rang through my ears
It pierced the sky, but everyone else
Knew nothing of it
I ignored the thumping, beating
But as I walked farther away
The sound got louder and louder
It stayed in my head
It was my fault
I could of saved her
I could of kept her alive, atleast one more night
But I chose to be selfish
And now, as I lie next to her dead body
I can still hear the light beats
Her heart still lingers in this world
While her body is frozen in the bitter snow
Even though her selfless heart reamins here,
I am gone from this world
Comepletely gone, forever
Because I ignored her shrieks of terror and agony

- Description: well... I just read "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe and it gave me this idea... ya know the "beating heart"... But other than that... It was sort of random... I hope you like it...
