You need to know that you’re missed
Although your name won’t be on a graduation list
Now is a time for reflection
Oh what a selection
I’ll never forget the time we shared
When we thought no one cared
Hanging out in the parking lot
The night you got shot
It hurt a lot
We never fought and rarely got caught
Sneaking in and out
With our head’s free of doubt
But man can our parents shout
Things got worse as if it were some sort of curse
The night my best friend rode in a hearse
After that night
People were changed and life’s rearranged
To the world it was just another random act of violence
To bad our voices were silenced
Now the world is one big scare
How is that fair?
Not as many people care
It’s my turn to share
The world forgot you
I can never forget
I wish you were here
Just to have you near
Your memory is so dear
I promise not to live in fear
