• Sick of story book tales
    And their lies of love.
Sick of all the lovey dovey nonsense.
Forget planned futures and stolen hearts.
You can keep my heart but I'll be leaving either way.
    Stand still in the rain,
    Watching time moving around you,
Wondering where everyone went and why they left.
Or maybe the storybooks forgot to say,
Stand still if you wish but time won't stop for you.
Trying so hard to catch up but still stuck here.
Bubble-gum and band-aids on my shoes
Held back by ribbons of earlier days
    And drowned by past pains.
Always three steps back in this hopscotch match.
Story books tell of happy ending,
But with every ending comes a new beginning
And for some things to fal together,
    Others must fall apart.
So round up your building blocks and spell out my name
    For tomorrow comes
And I'm still stuck in yesteryears.
