• Everything has fallen to slumber
    Winter's cold grasp holding tight
    Loved ones embrace eachother
For the desparate warmth that is little if not at all
    Cold ice daggers thrashing away
    Remains of warmer days
To be replaced by the bleak and gray

    Time to hunt for shelter
    Burrow into a darker place
    For some, into themselves
    Warm homes for others

    Sleep, sleep now
    As the cold creeps in
    Lurking into
    The most deepened
And dank spaces that the broken go
As the earth too falls to slumber
    Covering itself with blanketed snow
