• I’m sailing down this river
I can’t see where it ends
I could try to swim to shore
And risk drowning in the bend

    As I think about jumping
I float closer to the fall
    That plunges into darkness
No place for one so small

    I gaze upon the ripples
    Of water so frigid black
    Do I swim or sail?
Do I leave and not come back?

We all go down this river
    We all go differently
Some choose to swim, some sail
    Some crash accidentally

The harsh rapids prove too much
    For those more fragile souls
And they leave the river of life
    Before knowing where if flows
