The Forgotten
I am the guilt you feel,
The pain in your heart,
The sorrow that may never heal,
The shadow of doubt.
I am your childhood friend,
Lost in your mind.
I bear pain that will never mend.
I am the forgotten.
I have been thrown away,
Like a no longer loved old toy,
Out into the eerie streets, a stray.
I am the forgotten.
I sit in my dark corner,
That light can never touch.
Where happiness stays I am a foreigner,
Where wishes hopes and dreams evade me.
There is no escape for me,
I am forever chained,
So I beg you, hear my plea,
I am the forgotten.
