You want me to smile with warm delight,
Pure as a dove, innocence of an infant,
Smile, laugh, hug and kiss,
These joyful acts I cannot perform,
As you glare at me with cold contempt,
I feel your hate burn into me,
I'm frozen by that icy stare,
Drowning in my own despair.
I want to cry out, but not for now,
Shame pulses through my veins,
I won't let you see my pain,
You will never see my inner despair.
I stay silent, waiting, watching,
You scream, you shout, you throw everything at me,
You blame me, rage guiding your actions,
You demand my smile, my obedience,
You crave for my love, my respect,
You take everything I have, steal my life,
But you will never get that which you seek.
I will never smile for you,
I will never take the first step down,
I won't give in, I will wait,
Wait for you...
If you smile at me, you'll have mine...
My all, my everything.

Description:
I find that of the two of us, I am the only one giving an effort to become close to you. You can't do this to me anymore though, for if you want me to treat you pleasantly, it's your turn to start...

- yeah, this isn't one of my better ones. It's one I happened to find in an old journal from years ago, so I don't expect high ratings, lol. =P
