Quiet little snufflings,
Shrill and tiny squeaks,
I tried to listen to his voice,
But don't get a word he speaks.
Fidget, maybe you were cute,
As most dwarf hamsters can be,
But, I'll try to make it simple,
I don't like you, you see.
Perhaps if you just acted,
Acting cute around around your cage,
I would have been over-joyed,
You'd lived to such old age.
But when you uttered your last "Sniff,"
I'll admit that I was shaken.
My first pet to ever die,
The first pet Death had taken.
Yet, seeing the crescent scar
Than mars my fingertip,
I knew I'd have felt more sympathetic
To a pet that didn't n**.
I'll confess you've been forgotten,
What with six years since your dying day,
I can't describe the sorrow of it,
It's sad, that's all I'll say.
It seems so cruel to forget the life,
Of such an... appealing friend.
So I wrote this poem in your memory,
To make up for forgetting your end.
I'm sorry, yes, but you should know,
You'd put me in a strife
When you bit me at my touch,
Throughout your aggressive life.
Let's agree to disagree,
That our relationship wasn't "fine".
You can just get back to your "life",
And I'll get back to mine.
Happy existence, Fidget

- Title: An Ode to a Forgotten Friend
- Artist: Leik-chamma
- Description: This poem is in dedication to my violent pet Dwarf Hamster, Fidget. I don't think that I'm a bad pet-owner, because my other hamsters were easily tamed, but Fidget, the family Hamster, quite astonishingly bit everyone in my family at least once, except for my older brother. As he was never that enthusiastic with pets, it's ironic that he's the one that probably deserved to be bitten the most. I've already posted on AllPoetry, so I thought I'd show you.

- I know it may be cruel, no offense little hamster, but I was laughing the whole time I was reading this poem. It was awesome, though.

He, that's really cool.
It makes me want to write a poem for my dog..
But she's in heaven chilling out with all the bones she can eat so I envy her. - Report As Spam
