• Before he dies,
    The deku tree,
    Tells the tale of,
    Goddesses three.

    Din of power,
    Did shape the earth,
    And thus the land,
    Did she give birth.

    Farore, courage,
    Gave the earth life,
    And saved it from,
    Unending strife.

    Nayru, wisdom,
    Gave the land law,
    And then the three,
    Did all withdraw.

    They left behind,
    The gold tri-force,
    With power to,
    Change nature's course.

    Then the great tree,
    Ending life’s drink,
    A final gift,
    He gave to Link.

    An emerald,
    A sacred stone,
    First one of three,
    With beauty shone.

    Now Link must leave,
    His only home,
    The forest that,
    He’s always known.

    Before he leaves,
    He runs into,
    His truest friend,
    Saria who.

    Has made for him,
    Just like her own,
    An oc’rina,
    Crafted from stone.

    Now he sets out,
    Across the fields,
    To the castle,
    He never yields.

    When he arrives,
    He meets a girl,
    Can’t find her dad,
    Link takes a whirl.

    She gives to Link,
    Without a catch,
    A cuckoo egg,
    About to hatch.

    Now he must sneak,
    ‘Round every guard,
    Puts them to shame,
    It was not hard.

    The cuckoo breaks,
    Through the egg shell,
    And Link can see,
    It’s feeling well,

    He finds a man,
    Taking a nap,
    The cuckoo wakes,
    That lazy sap.

    He says to Link,
    His name’s Talon,
    He’s the father,
    Of young Malon.

    Talon runs off,
    And Link gets in,
    To the castle,
    He sneaks ag’in.
