I look down at my sleeping prince
And lightly brush his cheek
I wonder that he’s sleeping still
While I am wide awake.
I lie back down beside him, looking
Only at his face
Wondering what he’s dreaming,
And what fantasies he’ll chase.
My parents wouldn’t mind this;
I am safer here than home
With my lover’s arms around me
Instead of father’s at my throat.
I brush my greatest fears aside
And smile and try to sleep,
For what else matters in this world
But love you’d fight to keep?

- I agree, a bit cliche and silly. Not bad, but I didn't like it. 3/5.
