Hard work does not always earn perfection
Love is not true love when it's love of complexion
Or Love of pretty face, or a shapely body
That type of love is false, built shoddy
No foundation for love based on looks
Which only exists in movies and books.
My love is the man I watch from afar
Whose looks are so bad they dull the brightest stars.
His attitude and personality are barely there
The words that he says are mainly hot air.
His personality, looks, everything's lacking
His temper would send Mary Poppins packing.
He's unbearably mean, spiteful and rude
Yet I find myself growing fond of his attitude
He's nice to me, and it's making it worse
Each day that passes I suffer his curse
For though he's not perfect, and doesn't come close
(And he's certainly not the one I love the most)
I find him attractive, from mustache to toes
(And yes, sometimes even his congested nose)
He's far from perfection, cold as the night,
But his kindess makes me want to hold him tight.
He'll never know he's the guy I'd pick.
The man of contradictions, making me sick.
