Let's pretend that no one's there,
Oh wait, nobody is.
My soda bottle of love was full--
But you've removed the fizz.

Let's pretend my heart's still here,
Beating in my chest.
Just remember I gave you my all--
My good, better, and best.

Let's pretend that I still care,
Oh wait, I still do.
When you told me you would be there
I guess that wasn't true.

And when you swore that you were mine,
Shivering and sighing,
And when I said my love for you was infinite--undying,
I didn't make a note of it, but...
Apparently you were lying.
