• Once upon a time, a girl lived without light.
    Without joy, only freight.
She never smiled, she never laughed.
She avoided anyone along her path.

Once upon a time, a boy came along.
He saw the girl, and knew what was wrong.
He approached her, and he stood as still as he could.
He touched the girls face, and then what happened, no one understood.

The girls eyes went from black to blue,
    Her stained tears on her cheeks, lifting;
Revealing anew, and the pain in her heart,
Disappeared, replaced with a heartbeat off the charts.

The boy's life took a change,
What were these feelings? They felt, strange.
Yet, he continued on, holding the girl close,
    They could carry along.

Everything in the past that had gone dull,
Everyone that had left her alone,
All the times she couldn't sleep at night,
Went away; Everything was all right.

The girl didn't understand at first,
Why her insides tingled, why she couldn't hold a frown,
Why there was only an up, no longer a down.
She didn't care though, for once.

    Hand in hand, heart exchanged,
Maybe it was the Lord who created this day,
Maybe it was destiny they would fall in love.
Maybe they were lucky, maybe not.

But the love that the girl had wanted,
    Had been sought.
And the boy had a new purpose in life,
    And so did the girl,
Happiness for each other, hope, in such a small world.
