Have you ever taken notice-
as you walk your earthern ways-
of the pleasures, god has scattered
on our paths of night and day:
Pretty flowers- in abundance;
trees of majesty and might;
golden strands of playfull moonbeams
chasing shadows, through the night
And the smiles of joy and rapture-
that he graces on every road-
have you ever taken notice
how they lighten weary loads:
Fragrant fields of blooming clover;
laughing brooks and bubbling springs;
barren pastures, dressed in ermine;
painted song birds, on the wing?
These are gifts that he has scattered
on the pathways of our time
to be treasured - like his blessings-
and a joy to humankind,
but we must take note - to see them-
as we walk our different ways
or, forever, be the travelers
seeing, only, dirt and clay.
