• “High School Life”

    A group of girls cheer,
    Skinny, smart and insincere.
    A lone girl stands,
A Trumpet player in the band.

She watches the group with a tired face,
Alone, unloved and without a place.

The clique wears make-up to look great,
Without a thought of being late.
The young girl wears it to hide the truth,
Of the invisible force that won't cut her loose.

The group comes to the last home game,
    Cheering, jeering, calling out names.
The small girl stays home and pulls out a knife,
Crying and broken, she ends her young life.
