and reaching down he plucked me from my earth trench
i stirred the layers with my fingers, toes, rainbow strands,
fists covered in dirt and feathers, i reached hungrily

watched the thin film stretch along the horizon under my feet
and the blackness stretch out before my eager hands
i would digest this, he made me promise it
and i let my fingers curl around the vapors of mountain kings
the pearl strands reflected lovingly
on my porcelain
i asked them to be with me
and they did not tremble, but pulled towards me
collecting a puddle of treasure at my feet
i wrapped myself in ancient charts of light
and floated back to you, sunkissed
