• ON FORBIDDEN LOVE
    by UC Poika

if only they would let us be unbound
unencumbered and free to bind ourselves together
forever you for us and me for us,
the two of us one couple unfettered by love
forbidden to live apart from the passions we've found
and not barred by their rules, their laws and their culture
    whether we agree or disagree
and find forest hideouts for our lover's nests
beyond the bile of their personalities
forbidding what they cannot know without they had also
so loved the way that only we in these moments have...
not if but... because of each other in these horrid days...
O why cry my heart, "pity! have pity! pity us!
their justice is unjust! why dost thou judge us thus?"
