Passage to a house in the countryside,
Utmost serenity it seemed to possess.
Rustling leaves on the trees gave me peace as I
Gave appreciation to the calm and
Arboreal place that I was to stay, this casa,
This... home where I now reside forever.
Only it had taken me too long to realize that this terra
Roped me into its clutches. I now peacefully nap,
Yet to learn of this paradise's seductive beauty
Pestering insects and impossible to escape. I since abhor
And despise the decievable nature and to
Rage at my own foolishness as I had thought
A home in this place would be such a mecca.
Disgust did churn within me like a coffee mug,
Impatient to escape this psychological war.
Striving to bid this hellish Alcatraz adieu.
Even now, I want this torture to stop.

- Description: A poem about my current living conditions. Truly a beautiful place in the countryside and the envy of many. The only legitimate problem with it is that it's 10 miles away from town and I have little to no transportation options to leave my house, so I'm usually stuck in my house most of the week, only getting out 1, maybe 2 days a week.

- I liked how at the beginning you described this as a peaceful, wonderful place, and then you come to realize that it has its downsides as well... I liked the description of the landscape and then how in the last stanza it sounded more confining. Your piece was different, and I thought this was great. biggrin
