• With lightning crashing all around,
    Thunder clouds rumbling,
    And the rain coming down,
I see it through the rain.

The sight of you, in pain,
    Shamed, crying, alone,
Etched into the crystal drops of rain,
The image that breaks my heart.

It brings me to my knees,
This thought of you in sorrow,
Tears streaming down your cheek, the cause, me.
Tears streaming down your cheek as smooth as a lake; untouched, perfect.

    I broke you,
Tore you to pieces, like the wolf devouring the rabbit ravenously,
Like the lightning shreds the air in two,
And now I pay for my crime.

I die for my wicked deed,
    For being a leech
    That needed to feed,
I am punished for stealing from you.

    I am struck down,
    In shame,
    For making you drown,
Without one chance to save yourself.

I drown in the image etched into the crystal sheet rocketing to earth from sky,
Much like when I drowned you,
So simple then, I didn't even try,
But now your pain is mine, and you rejoice while I moan.

But this is only the beginning of your torture,
    I kept hurting you,
Until you couldn't take it anymore,
But prehaps you didn't see the pain I was feeling.

    She killed me,
    She caused your pain,
Because shee wanted me dead; me
    Not you.

    You were innocent.
    Perfection in purity,
    Then tainted and bent,
By another's pain; by my pain.

So now as I sit here,
    Lightning killing all around,
Looking back at the biggest mistake of my career,
I add to the rain, tears streaming from my eyes.

I regret what I had done.
To you, to me, to all,
And from your presence I am shunned,
Cast out from you, my love.

And yet, you defy all reason,
    Take me in,
While no one else would, none,
    And show me kindness.

    You healed your wounds,
And now you try to mend mine,
By trying to tell me I'm forgiven and good,
Yet I know I am evil.

So now with sun shining down,
    And storm clouds rolling away,
    As the rain dies down,
We sit and laugh and love, our pain is washed away by the fading of the rain.
