• The day was absolutely lovely,
as the rain on the windows seemed like
    war drums drumming.
His wife sat quietly speaking on the phone,
talking to a man he didn't seem to know.
He listened intensively to her plans to meet him,
as for what the husband was up to,
    her plans would discontinue.
    She sat upon her chair,
    knitting something blue and fair.
His approach was so close he began smell her hair.
The blade tingled in his hand,
as if it took on a mind of its own.
Soon she would pay for her adultery,
as he got closer he seemed like an unstoppable drone.
The blade ran across her neck then veins,
the edge followed the paths as if a train.
    Soon it was over,
    there was no struggle.
After he hid the body he sank down in her chair,
    thunder began to rumble.
He reached into her basket of yarn,
to wipe the blood off his hands and arms.
He picked up a newly made item and sat in shock,
it was a tiny fair blue bib or smock.
    Underneath was a letter,
he opened it up as if that would make everything better.
    The letter read:
"When the rain clears, meet me at the office of Dr. Reed
in the city, we have a surprise, it will more than likely strengthen
    our marital ties."
Right then he began to sob a terrible cry,
because his mistake had finally been realized.
