• Liar Liar pants on fire, it reminds me of the past
When things werent so shadowy as through the looking glass
    The later years of youth
    obscuring all truth
take me back to those beginnings
    before all the provacative sinning
    I want that innocence back
    before it all went black
    Summer days and lazy haze
Lies and trickery create a maze
    Friends, love, flying carefree
Life falls apart, a decaying debris
Bring back those days lost to the years
Bring back those days with little to fear
    No tears were ever shed
    No wrongs ever said
I fell in love with those times
    With their quiet innocence, devine
Bring me back those days i beg you
Bring me back those times when i flew
How lucky i was i didnt know
How fast those times were sure to go
I loved you then like i love you now
Those times i will never disavow
    Five children whidled down
I promise you i wont let you drown
Adolescence rages on and on it seems
That we have no innocence left to gleam
So we party harder than ever before
ignoring those warnings wanting to soar
Till we fall down flat on our face
Were idiots you see, we tried to replace
    Those days of carefree innocence
Now we sit in utter silence
Contemplating the lives weve made for ourselves
Into our past we continue to delve
People all make mistakes you see
back in childhood we all wish to be
but you must understand you learn from these beginnings
how to stop all the provacative sinning
you learn that honestys better than not
Its easier than keeping track of your plot
You learn the meaning of the word love
You learn to walk away, you learn to rise above
For others you learn to care
These lessons are in fact quite rare
thats why we must clutch to our youth
Because that is when we discover lifes truths
When we learned, found for ourself
Its not about the destination itself
but more for the journey to get there
So for the future we must prepare
holding these truths close to our heart
And thanking God for that innocent start.
