Golden
By Jamie Kurosawa
Golden eyes, watching you with care,
Who am I to question your dares?
I feel I’m being ripped apart,
As my heart burns with guilt, I know I’m falling apart
As promises are made, hearts are broken
As lies are told, my heart darkens,
As crushes are born, love dies
Can’t you see the fire in my eyes?
I think you know you’ll hurt me
And I think that’s why you stay,
If that is in truth the way you feel
Then by all means, strike a deal,
I’ve seen the things you hired
The pain, The hate, and The desire,
The desire to break what is already broken
The desire to steal what was already stolen
Fires crackling, rivers flowing
Tears falling, blood gushing,
Eternal darkness approaches on this relentless evening
A glistening blade beside the heart that is bleeding,
Those….Golden….. Eyes….
Whispers and snickers do not save the occasion
A confused heart is killed by persuasion,
Mislead and alone, those hearts wander
Misfortune and hate serve as reminder,
As harshly as I’m beaten…..
As hard as it is to go on……
We strive to live and to fight,
We laugh as they finally see the light.
That beautiful golden light
