There once was a wolf who found a dog.
The dog was lying in an old swampy bog.
The dog was in danger, the wolf could hear her cry.
The dog said “help me, help me” in a piercing cry.
The wolf said “help yourself, it’s your fault that you’ll die”
“help me, help me” she yelped and yelped
But the wolf did not even try.
The wolf left the dog in agonizing pain
There was one final yelp, then the dog had been slain
The wolf went home, to a nice peaceful bed
“help me, help me”
It rang in her head, even though the dog was dead
The wolf awoke from a fearful dream
She had dreamed of the dog and her painful scream
“help me, help me”
The voice rang along
So she lifted her head and sang a sad song
She went back to the bog, the old swampy bog to see what was left of that little sad dog
“help me, help me”
Then all of a sudden the wolf fell in
She screamed and yelped but no one listened
“help me, help me” she cries when a dog comes along
A dog that looked similar to the dog in the bog
“help me, help me”
But the dog looked on
Not wanting to help, but wanting to go along
Why should I help you, the dog had said
You didn’t help me, so now I am dead.
So stop that yell and stop that cry
It’s just like you said before, “it’s your fault you’ll die.
