• I stand on a hollow road,
With my feet planted in the ground.

    I really want to move,

But I really don’t know how.

    Once the lights grew dim,

My heart pounds a hundred beats.

A spot light sets in front

My skin boils from all the heat.

    Two roads come into view,

And my eyes become a sea.

    The pathways stay there waiting,

The choice lays all on me.

    One, vibrant red

Its flames extending in all directions

    The other blue, artic cold

    As painful as rejection

    The road remain empty

No cars or bystanders in view

    And finally I am aware

That my options are just a few

    Freeze to nothing,

    Or burn alive.

    It’s rather stupid

For one to live, and not survive

    I stretch my hands

    To feel the breeze

The roads laugh and tell me

    I’m just a tease

    My knees grow weak

And I fall into the ground

    I now see them laughing

    But there is no sound

    My heart vanishes

But there is a small beat

I feel it in the ground

    Under my own two feet

    Perhaps it should remain buried

    For no one to take

    It’s better to hide it

    Than for it to ache

    My heart asks to escape,

This is not as I planned

    I am utterly lost….

Do you know where I stand?
