• her eyes seem to move through me
    like a ghost only colder
    they seem to be searching for a light
    a tiny glimpse of hope
    the way her icy tears rain down her face
    like bullets through empty air
    they slice their way onto my shirt
    i try to reach but my hands meet space
    as she moves even farther away
    i call and scream her name
    but realize nothing leaves my lips
    she turns and gives me one last goodbye
    i could see the pain leaving her face
    slowly i fall to my knees
    trying to grab hold of me
    i look up high and see the sky cry
    oblivious to the tears on my face
    the thunder booms as i race to my feet
    i chase her down the empty street
    i grabbed her by the hand-her cold lonely hand
    and spin her around-so we're face to face
    and in one final movement
    i kiss her soft and firm
    feeling her hands wrap around me
    she doesnt fight back
    instead she moves with me
    and i know now that when she said
    I hate you
    it actually meant
    i love you
    and i felt my heart burst through my chest
    as it reached out for hers
    and in her eyes
    i saw the light shine
    and finally realized
    that i was her only hope.
