• I close my eyes.
    Paws thud along the ground.
    Wind rushes through thick fur.
    I stop.
    Throwing back my head,
I sing out into the night.
    Notes rising and falling,
    against each other,
    in a waterfall of sound.
    Ears twitch,
    and listen for a sound.
    A faint reply echoes,
and I begin to run again,
as the rain starts to fall.
