When we look in the mirror-
What do we see?
Our own selves?
Or is it someone else?
People see what they want to see.
Not what's been chosen for all to see.
Staring at the freckles on our noses.
Frowning at the darkness of in our eyes.
Putting on a smile for everyone to see.
To hide the pain.
We look at ourselves and think-
Why aren't we prettier?
Does anyone know we're wearing contacts?
How many corners will we have turn to not see ourselves anymore?
Is this too much makeup?
Will wearing this make us look cool?
Mirror Images.
When we look in the mirror-
What do we see?
Our own selves.
Our confidence.
Our smile.
Everything that makes us, us.
