Laying there,
breezy winds,
fear running,
eerie silence,
where to go,
what to do,
who to ask,
freezing,
starving,
ripped apart,
little by little,
who knew,
those times we spent,
were great,
valued,
those times again,
would give anything,
to see them again,
laying here,
wondering,
scared,
what,
where,
why?

the only true poverty is to be alone and be without people whom one treasures.. living life selfishly, taking in only things for oneself.. poverty indeed..

if you hadn't told me it was about poverty, i could have guessed it was about "better times" no necessarily monetary defined; still, i like your idea, but this poem needs booze, shoes with holes, and (as the reference picture indicates) a person whom one could get attached to, one who we can relate to as being poor, for we are all "poor" in one way or another.
