• As I stood there and gazed at the dark plate,
I saw a glimpse of my fate,
I did not hear the sound of love,
I did not look upon the world above
I did not hear rose peddles fall.

But, one thing that I did see,
Was something that resided in me,
Something that turned my face a glow,
    Something brighter than snow.

And then, a light glistened on my face,
It was filled with a slight grace,
And I heard voices in my head,
As they laid me on the bed

I did not hear anything at first,
    But, I knew,
    That when the time came,
    I want thank the light,
For it was the thing I saw first,
And the thing that kept me human.
The thing that resided in me.
