• Travelling by abandoned Roads

    I tread upon the cobblestones,
    I walk from place to place.
    So many people I had seen,
    I still know each person's face.

    The pool and pond
    The river and the rill
    Surroundings of which I'm fond.
    The forest is so quiet now.
    (The sky itself, is still)

    I wander through the times I know,
    The summer and the autumn days.
    I go through the fields they used to sow,
    I step and dance in many ways.

    And the seed flies around me,
    The sun smiles down.
    In the grasses I feel like royalty;
    I dream of slippers and a satin gown.

    For the world is my own property
    I can only jump with glee.
    And then hope, that, some day;
    There'll be someone there with me.
