Riding the Griffon
Walk ' cross the tarmac
Feeling Nervous
Rotor Wash whips
Up my hair.
Climb up and in
Transmission Seat
For me.
Side door left open
Banking Reveals
A View like no other.
Rotors could break,
Engine fail,
Autorotate down
to the dusty fields
Below.
Back on the ground
Laugh at my fear,
Bravado overshadowing
My inner doubt.

Description:
A quick poem I wrote after a ride in a Ch-146 Griffon helicopter for a Family Day event at 408 Sqdn, Edmonton, AB, Canada.
I'm not much of a poet, I know, but I hope you like it, anyway... - Date: 02/02/2010

- I enjoyed the poem and was able to relate to it a bit when I flew my first plane. It was exillirating and scary at the same time.
