Tick, tock, tick, tock.
The gentle whispers of the clock.
It speaks to me most everyday,
And oh, what things it has to say.
When I wake up it says “Good day,
I hope that things will go your way.
Polish me, oh, would you please?
I‘d beg but alas! I have no knees.”
When I leave it says “Farewell!
Wait you must reset my bell!”
I push the button and it snickers,
Says: “I’m glad we never bicker.”
Sometimes it tries to speak to others,
Friends, fathers and even mothers.
Alas! None other than yours truly
Hears the things told so duly.
My dearest clock does many things:
Tells jokes and stories, even sings;
It knows all and it can rhyme;
Imagine this: it tells time!
I do not know what I would do,
If I lost my clock to someone new.
I hope my clock loves me most,
But of course it does (not to boast).
My clock will be, forever, mine.
I love my clock, my clock so fine.
It will be my friend until I find
My fragile, lost, and broken mind.

- Title: Whispers of a Clock
- Artist: xX_Miss_Puppet_Xx
- Description: I wrote this poem after waking up on day, thinking that my alarm clock was speaking to me in Latin. Crazy, I know, but I got a poem out of it. Tell me what you think, please and thank you.

- It's supposed to "straddle the fence". That was the point. And if you can find better rhymes that get the same point across, feel free to let me know. But thank you.

- Interesting. Some of the rhymes could have been better chosen, but not bad. You could turn this into something either more noticeably insane, or something delightfully whimsical...as is, you kind of straddle the fence.
