Alice in the looking glass, Alice in the chair
but her name isn't Alice and no one seems to care
Go ask the White Rabbit if she's made of glass
the Cheshire Cat will grin and laugh
Go ask the bloody queen if the White Rabbit is really White
she'll surely chop off your head, her mind so filled with spite
Go ask Alice why she followed the Rabbit all the way down down down
'cause Alice doesn't know and it always makes her frown
Go ask the Mad Hatter why White Rabbit ran away
"the Jabberwocky stole her love and lost it in the Unday!"
Go ask the Rabbit why her heart thump thump thumps every time she's late
but she's already gone, whisked away by some madman's whimsical fate
Alice in the looking glass, Alice in the chair
someone should ask the White Rabbit if Alice was ever really there
but her name isn't Alice and no one seems to care.

Description:
A glance at the mirror, but who was Alice?
Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass is a staple in my life, so to speak, and I created a character (or three) on a game that I play based on various aspects of the skeleton concept of the tales. This particular poem is about the White Rabbit, who is Alice but not Alice. (Is meant to be read out loud.) - Date: 03/27/2010
