L'hiver
It feels as though I pay
for every breath I take
with a cup of my soul's
blood, it's spirit energy.
All around me is deathly white
and colder than my frozen heart.
Nothing lives here but me,
for my pack has exiled me.
Due to my sudden great iniquity,
they've sentenced me to the life
of a lone wolf, a rogue.
A life of emptiness and misery.
Yet I refuse to lay down
in the snow to die,
though I sense no escape from this dungeon
which grows drearier with every step I take.
Knowing always that I cannot
be forgiven,
I keep trudging through the forest,
searching for tommorrow
whilst being stuck in yesterday.
So far,
my search has been in vain.
I growl to the sky.
The moon and stars are hidden,
hidden behind dark clouds.
My guiding lights are gone,
leaving my soul in darkness.
I howl in anguish;
sending all my pain and sorrow
to the moon and stars.
My prayer to God's son and his angels,
far in the distance,
who have all refused to shine for me.
Le Printemps
My breaths still catch
in my throat.
A aching tension has
filled the emptiness in my soul,
but the moon is shinning,
ever so faintly
through the clouds.
Now, as my paws trod
soft, green flora
on a night that smells
of jasmine and pine,
my eyes soften more and more
with each glance I spare
to the moon and his stars.
I bay to the sky,
pleadingly,
expecting answers,
looking for reassurance,
and praying for forgiveness.
Slowly the clouds part,
revealing a sparkling
crescent moon.
A ray of it's light
illuminates my lush, pink fur
and a northern wind causes
jasmine petals to dance around me.
My soul smiles as I leap
into the air.
My heart beats quickly
as it overflows with joy.
