• This familiar scent, it haunts my dreams
It jogs my memories now and again.
Of days I wished would never end
But now all that’s left is scented seams.

Remember when we were first together?
Life was fresh and we were young,
Staying up all night talking among
Friends that we said we’d have forever.
Now all that’s left are just us two,
They have all gone to make a life.
They couldn’t deal with college strife
And even we aren’t the people they knew.
We lost those days, those simple nights.
When all that mattered was just us,
Classes were but an hour’s long fuss
At which end I’d hold you tight.
Now looking back, mature we’ve become.
No longer like then but yet still the same.
We see each other now and again,
Relishing each moment we are one.

I will now turn off this glowing screen
And also set aside my pixel pen.
Take one whiff of this scent and then
Maybe I will see you in my dreams.
