• Society is a garbage disposal.
The rabbit hole is dark and damp,
As unwanted necessities are thrust down the drain.
The slick confines are restricting by nature,
    For humankind demands living perfection.
    Striving for a legacy,
    One too many stumbles.

Imperfections and misconceptions are tossed in the trash,
Leaving cold, metallic steel to dispose of the rest.
    Oddities aren’t meant for acceptance,
And so the outcasts remain askew.
    Neither by nature nor choice,
But by mankind as a whole.

The putrid smell leaks out of the disposal,
    Revealing the falsest ruse.
There are neither twists nor turns,
    Only the endless plummet
    Before hitting the sharpest thorns.
The minute, glistening knives dig into the crestfallen remnants,
    Erasing past existence.

The fetal stench of decay lingers,
Just like man’s stubborn grasp within society.
Too many desires lead to decay,
Signifying the purest form of corruption.

And so the switch is flipped,
    With humanity’s gruesome apathy.
As the blades whirr to life,
They drown out the meek protest,
Of those who simply yearn for livelihood.

    The cries turn into agony,
Once the disposal finely chops the remains.
    Only then,
Does society deem rule over all.
