    Our land so long, what once was green
    Now so burnt and black
    Ashes to ashes kicked by the wind
    Wars were waged that never ceased
    Turned the skies to black

    The dead cry out the living plead
    Heavens mercy bleed for me
    War and rage have poisoned all
    Heavens part a spear of light
    For a broken heart to see
    Where the Northern lights are burnt in flame
    And the Western mountians harald
    Freedom- salvation

    My feet to tread the lonely way
    The soot to render down my feet
    Onward- harald- onward
    The voices sing to me
    To a nightmare I proclaim
    A ceaseless war was waged
    That burnt the angels wing away
    And left us with no rain

    Quench no flames the smoke to choke
    Burn the lung and leave it black
    Feel no steel- abiding fear
    Wingless angels sing for me
