    crawled up into

    the corner of my ceiling

    When I gradually peeked out

    from under my blanket

    It was staring at me

    Its face appeared to be

    rotting off

    But I knew

    it was watching me

    The goose bumps

    Ran up my spine

    then traveled

    Like electricity

    throughout my body

    it started to crawl

    Slowly heading my way

    Breathing deeply

    I didn’t move

    a single muscle

    Fear yet courage stood

    up for me in the

    time it was needed most

    It was whispering

    things I couldn’t comprehend

    I screamed

    What do you want from me?

    Then it’s gone

    Just like two nights

    Before

    I slowly relaxed

    And I waited for

    The “things”

    return
