• There is this time in your life;
    Or should I say mine
    When all else diminishes;
    The whole world collides

    Its hard to make sense of
    This thing no one desires
    And I doubt you would think-
    It's terribly bad to acquire

    It's that time
    That we all share the burden
    Of visting the doctor
    Hoping we won't end up needing a surgen

    You go in and get out
    With a sticker or prize
    A ballon or a tiny toy
    For winning without surprise

    So it isn't that hard
    Because each time you know
    You'll come right back out
    With a few words of wisdom
    And a little band-aid to show

    Exercise and eat right
    Keep off those extra pounds
    Remember to brush
    Don't take so many rounds

    So you do as your told
    For a day or maybe two
    And wait for another year
    Before you start laying off the barbecue

    But not all people are lucky;
    Or should I rather say me
    When you go in and go out,
    and that world I was talking about?
    Yeah, it collides.

    It's hard to explain
    What happens next
    Although I'll try to describe to my best
    The nothing and the something
    If that makes any sense

    For a moment nothing changes
    For a moment all is well
    Then that moment changes
    And so everything else will.

    You hold on to your ballon
    Hold back the tears
    Try to make sense
    Of that which is still unclear.

    Then is when you break;
    Or should I say I shattered
    For no apparent reason
    Of why it really matters.

    So this time we've lost
    Yet we still hold our prize
    Although we still know
    This must be some sort of joke.

    You probably don't understand;
    These words I try to speak
    But this moment in my life
    I'm afraid is impossible to tweak.

    This thing that came at me
    May not be life-threatening
    But will change my life
    In way that I find hard to start accepting.

    Every time I'll go to the doctor
    They'll ask for my progress
    They'll take my blood
    and I'll sit there smiling as fake as an actress

    So this thing I speak of,
    This time when its learned
    It's more than a little change
    It's as if you've awkended
    And lost all of your simple sweet dreams.

    It's that time when we visit the doctor
    It's that time where we try to explain
    It's that time that you run, not wanting to join in my pain.

    It's that time when the pills are taken
    It's that time when depression sets in
    It's that time when you see a negative
    It's that time when you see it again.

    It's that time when all is lost
    It's that time when you just give in.

    It's more than a few simple changes
    For when they form together
    Nothing ever will be the same.

    There is a time in your life;
    Or I should I say mine
    When all else diminishes;
    When the whole world
    ...
    Collides.
